Halloween is right around the corner and as we approach this spooky holiday, Raiders are deciding what to be. This always causes the three types of Halloween participants to emerge. First, there are the individuals who go all out for Halloween. They seem to have the most realistic costumes and perfect plans for how they are going to spend the night, whether it be trick-or-treating or having a scary movie marathon with friends. Then we have the second group, who only see one positive outcome of Halloween…candy. They know exactly which houses give out the best types of candies and by the end of the night have garbage bags full of sweets. Last, but definitely not least, there is the group who have no interest in Halloween whatsoever. This group of people don’t dress up and has no plans for the scary or even sweet holiday.
With all of this said I decided to go out and ask a few Raiders how they felt about Halloween and the forever haunting question…What age should you stop trick-or treating?
The answers varied. Some people felt you should stop trick-or-treating once you entered the pearly gates of high school.
“The last time I ever trick-or-treated I was 13 years old. I don’t really care for Halloween anymore”
“I think people should stop trick-or-treating at 13 because you’re too old and it’s for little kids”
Whereas others completely disagreed explaining that trick-or-treating does not have an age limit. Therefore keeping the sport open to all ages.
“I trick-or-treated up until grade 10 and I kinda just don’t want to anymore but there’s nothing wrong with still doing it”
“There shouldn’t be a limit because no one should be able to stop you from doing it. Halloween is cool cause it’s scary!”
There were also those who felt there might be age limits the individuals giving out candy might have.
“I stopped trick-or-treating at 13 because I felt like I was too tall and people would recognize my age and not give me candy”
